A stranger's dive into the Hudson River saved a child
A passerby jumped into New York's Hudson River without hesitation to keep an 8-year-old girl safe until police could pull her from the water, and city officials say they plan to honor him.

The rescuer couldn't climb back out himself because of a seawall along the bank, so he kept holding the girl steady until Troy Police officers arrived, climbed down to the water, and lifted her safely onto land. She was unhurt.
