Privacy Notice

What we collect, why, and your rights.

This notice explains how HappyFleet handles your personal data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. HappyFleet is the Data Fiduciary responsible for your data. Your data is stored in India (Mumbai); some processing uses vetted providers outside India, as listed below.

What we collect

Account details: Name, email, password, date of birth; optionally gender and city.
Wellbeing data: Mood check-ins and notes, journal entries, AI-companion conversations, and PHQ-9 / GAD-7 assessment answers.
Safety signals: Automatically-detected crisis indicators derived from the above, used to offer timely support.
Voice: Audio you record for voice messages (transcribed, then discarded — not stored).
Usage & technical: Sign-in sessions, approximate location (only if you use nearby-workshop search), and basic device/log data.

Why we use it

•Provide your private AI companion, mood tracking, journaling and exercises.
•Detect safety crises and connect you to trained human support.
•Show schools / employers only aggregate, anonymised wellbeing signals (never individual entries).
•Keep your account secure and operate the service.

Some processing happens outside India. We only use providers that commit to not training on your data. We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and delete it when you delete your account or when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected. [Retention periods to be confirmed] — specific retention windows per data type are being finalised.

Children

HappyFleet is used by students who may be under 18. Processing a child’s data requires verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not use children’s data for tracking or targeted advertising. Our guardian-consent process is being rolled out.
