Electric company gives $20,000 back to St. Jude's hospital
After finishing work on a new backup power plant for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an Arkansas electric company handed over a $20,000 donation, just to give back.
Koontz Electric Company, a family-owned business based in Morrilton, Arkansas, recently wrapped up its work building a new Central Standby Generator Plant for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The plant is designed to keep the hospital's critical operations running without interruption.
To mark the project's completion, the company didn't just walk away, it also handed over a $20,000 donation to the hospital. Company President and CEO Dean Hoover joined superintendents Sergio, Robert and Oswaldo, who worked on the project, to make the presentation.
For the Koontz team, the gift was a way of putting a personal stamp on infrastructure work that will keep running quietly in the background for years, backing up the power that keeps the hospital's research and care going.
